Common's The Dreamer/The Believer dropped two days ago, and according to HITS Daily Double, it has been projected to sell between 55-65k first week. I predicted it would sell between 60-120k first week. so i am onpoint. His last album, 2008's Universal Mind Control, on G.O.O.D./Geffen, debuted with 82k.
Common has always sold within this range, so this is another successful album for him. When you don't attach any kind of gimmick to your music, it is always hard to sell big...but i think he is cool with this sales. It's a great album, and he now has more songs to perform on tour.
