Hi there,
I reviewed some time ago some jumbo soothing pads from the brand JJOYY as well as their multipack of sheet masks and today I have the part 2 of the review. It includes the 2 other jumbo jars containing pads, namely the Ice Centella Beauty Pads & Fermented Honey Bubble Peeling Pads.
I've already discussed about the brand HERE but quickly, JJOYY is a subbrand of WishFormula and they're known for their jumbo size pads that you can use on your face and body.
Fermented Honey Bubble Peeling Pads
What are they? 15 peeling pads soaked in 300mL of essence. They claim to exfoliate the skin without any irritation. They contain AHAs, fermented honey, vitamin C and plant fermentation extracts to make skni clear and radiant.
How they look/feel/smell? The pads are big (about 9cm of diameter). They're made of thick foamy material. One side of it is soft while the other side has a bit of texture.
When you take the pad out of the jar it seems to be dry but when you start squeezing it, it starts to lather. When you have enough bubbles, you can rub it on your face or body (on the instructions it says: face, elbow, knee and heel).
After 1-2min, rinse with water.
Ingredients:
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Diprolylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Glycolic Acid, Saccharomyces/Honey Ferment Filtrate, Black Strap Powder, 3-o-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Polyglutamic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Aureobasidium Pullulans Ferment, Impatiens Balsamina Flower Extract, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Lepidium Meyenii Root Extract, Eriobotrya Japonica Leaf Extract, Pachyrhizus Erosus Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Chlorphenesin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum
As most bubbling products, these pads contains some surfactants/cleansing agents to create the lather (Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate). Here they’re on the gentle side.
They also contain some humectants (Glycerin, Diprolylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate), polyglutamic acid that has strong moisturizing ability and can prevent the skin from drying.
Importantly, the pads also contains 2 AHAs to help exfoliate the skin. The AHAs here are lactic acid and glycolic acid. There is also a derivative of Vitamin C (3-o-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid) to help brighten the skin.
Also pretty high in the ingredient list is Honey Ferment Filtrate. Honey is a great humectant that also possesses antibacterial and antioxidant properties. In this article, it has been shown that the fermentation process of honey can yield in honey rich in gluconic acid, a PHA (see my article about PHA here), aka a gentle exfoliant. If you’re interesting in fermented honey, I’ve reviewed a sheet mask containing it here.
Finally the pads also contains some botanical extracts with antioxidant and soothing properties.

Thoughts: I like these exfoliating pads for a couple of reasons. First, they're quite big and come in a box of 12. Considering the size and amount you get, they can easily be used on the body. I actually was looking for body peeling pads to be used on my chest area and shoulders. I haven't tried them on my face (my face doesn't react so well to AHAs), I really wanted to focus on my body with these pads (I tend to neglect my body comparing to my face...I know...). Results are really encouraging so far as I tend to get smoother , less clogged skin, and didn't get any irritation. After already one use, I could see a difference, which is pretty amazing. In terms of ingredients, I also find them great, you get the AHAs, but also a vitamin C derivative, honey and some soothing ingredients. Definitely pretty interesting pads! I might actually repurchase them!
Ice Centella Beauty Pads
What are they? 120 pads soaked in 550mL of el essence. They claim to be cooling, soothing, moisturizing, nourishing and give healthy skin. They can be used on the face, arms, legs and body.
How they look/feel/smell? They're big round pads (about 9cm of diameter). The material is soft and thick. The pads are soaked in essence which is rather liquidy. There is enough essence that the pads stick to the skin easily (because they're really wet).
When you apply a pad, you immediately feeel a cooling sensation. There is a fresh fragrance, something a bit minty (kind of reminds me of some Saborino masks'scent).
Ingredients
Water, Gylcerin, Diproylene Glycol, Alcohol, 1,2-Hexaediol, Potassium Alum, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Arginine, Ceramide NP, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Menthol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Parfum
Thoughts: They’re supposed to be cooling, soothing, moisturizing, nourishing and can be used on the face and body.
The cooling effect is probably due to the alcohol and menthol present in the pads. Although they contain alcohol I don’t’ find them drying. Probably the combination of the different ingredients avoid the drying effect of alcohol (a lot of humectants is there). They claim to be soothing and indeed you can find a few soothing ingredients, such as centella asiatica extract, panthenol and allantoin. That said for soothing products, I wouldn't expect alcohol in them. Alcohol is also here to thin out the formula of the essence, i.e. it’s a thin watery essence.
There is also Potassium Alum in the formula. This is an astringent, it can induce a tightening or tingling sensation of the skin. This also reinforces the cooling sensation.
I don’t find them nourishing or moisturizing. For me, they’re mainly hydrating and cooling. They do actually provide a nice sensation when you apply them. I think they’re best used in summer or spring when it’s hot outside and you need something to refresh.
