Days are changing and many products are being launched in the market for chemical exfoliation. We are at our wit’s end to choose the correct product for our skin. I was reading about chemical exfoliators and wanted to include one in my skin care routine. My skin type is combination, and I read that this type of exfoliator is apt for my skin type. Let us see how this Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling Mask worked for me.
Price: INR 1000
Product Description:
A gommage-type peeling mask that combines the chemical peel of green barley vinegar and the physical peel of cellulose.
• Chemical peeling with Salicylic Acid and Barley.
• Contains three kinds of AHA that helps to get rid of dead skin cells.
• Barley extracts have high quantity of fibre and protein that gives a non-drying finish to your skin.
Directions:
After cleansing and towel drying, place an appropriate amount and smooth over face, avoiding the eye and lip areas. After 3 minutes, gently peel off using fingertips and cleanse with lukewarm water. Use 1 to 2 times a week for best results.
My Experience with Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling Mask:
I have combination skin type but it tends to become acne prone in summers. When I first came to know about chemical exfoliators or mild peels, I wanted to know more and came across this one. It contains both AHA and BHA. AHA means the lactic acid or glycolic acid and BHA is salicylic acid. AHA is best for moisturising the skin and BHA is best for cleansing the pores and also for acne.
I cleansed my face with a face wash. And after patting my face dry, I applied a thin layer of this one. The consistency of the product is not smooth or creamy. The product feels like a white gel with granules. It’s not a gel, though. It doesn’t spread smoothly and you need quite an amount for your entire face.
I left it for 3 minutes and within that short period of time it had dried up. While removing, I gently massaged my face and what I thought to have dried, started rolling up and was still wet. So, I massaged it and it was satisfying to see the roll of balls come up. I, then, washed my face with water and followed up with a moisturiser.
The skin felt soft and this product did not make my skin red. I mean I was not sensitive to both the main ingredients. Some might be sensitive to them, though. It is better to do a patch test before you go full-fledged. The skin felt clean and smooth after first use. My skin usually is rough on some dry areas and this product has removed rough and dry patches quite well.
The oily segments of my face felt fresh, which was a miracle in itself. Overall, I felt good after using this mask. It delivers what it promises. If followed up with a sheet mask, it will be even better. I have been using it for over two months now, twice a week. And, my skin hasn’t been this fresh ever.
Pros of Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling Mask:
• Easy to use
• Has both AHA and BHA
• A great product for combination skin

Cons of Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling Mask:
