How to organize your pants with this $12 hanger: Whitmor hanger review - Business Insider Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:39 AM PDT Insider Picks writes about products and services to help you navigate when shopping online. Living in a cozy and quaint apartment in Brooklyn (that's real estate agent-speak for "shockingly small"), I feel like I spend every other weekend reorganizing my room and trying to figure out how to make more efficient use of my space. My joke of a closet is a constant source of pain for me, particularly because I have many pairs of bulky pants and nowhere to put them. I'm used to folding my pants, but over time I realized the folded stacks were taking up too much space. With the design of my room and closet, it makes more sense to hang clothes instead of fold and stack them. I took to Amazon to find affordable and effective solutions to my pant predicament and landed on the Whitmor Swing Arm Slack Hanger ($11.99), which had more than 500 five-star reviews. A mere $12 to end the recurring misery of picking up toppled-over stacks of jeans? I'll take two. Read more: The best closet and drawer organizers you can buy I decided to designate a group of jeans and casual pants to these two hangers. Each chrome steel hanger measures 16" x 17.5" and has four arms that swing out to allow you to put on and take out your pants. The arms are coated in vinyl to prevent your pants from slipping off. According to the product description, each arm (plus the bottom rod of the hanger) is meant for one pair of pants — five pairs total per hanger. But always one to test the limits and challenge the status quo, I ultimately squeezed eight to nine pairs per hanger. Here's what 17 pairs of pants look like on the Whitmor hangers: The main drawback of putting this many pairs of pants, especially jeans, on one hanger is that it can get heavy, but I personally don't mind the weight since it's allowed me to take advantage of the vertical hanging space in my closet. I've had these hangers for almost a year and they've held up reliably well the entire time. When I want to wear a pair of pants, I take the hanger off the rod, lay it on my bed, and swing out the appropriate arm. If I'm lazy, I just yank a pair out while it's still hanging in my closet. Either way, I can quickly identify and pull out the pants I want with minimal disturbance to the other pants or the rest of my closet. The other nice thing about these hangers is they allow you to easily organize pants by function, color, or any other category you'd like. It's more mentally efficient, but also visually satisfying to have your clothes organized this way. Though their name says they're for pants, you can also use them in other creative ways, like to hang scarves or craft supplies. If your pants often end up in mountainous piles or take up too much space folded up, use the Whitmor Slack Hanger to streamline the clutter. This durable and effective way to tidy up my pants has made me less stressed about the state of my closet, and it only costs $12. Spring Pants Are Here to Make Your Life Cuter and More Comfortable - STYLECASTER Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:14 AM PDT Scroll To See More Images One secret of spring/summer shopping? Spring pants are as vital as any other seasonal necessity. I know it might seem strange to stock up on something that feels so wintry, tailored and polished during the most vibrant months of the year; spring is about warmth, flowy silhouettes and breezy attitudes—not carefully cut trousers that restrict us every time we try to move. But pants are more versatile than we give them credit for. And they're also way more warm weather-friendly than we're apt to acknowledge. My life changed for the better in 2015, when I decided to fill my summer internship wardrobe with flowy pants. I'd previously opted for dresses and skirts, but anyone who's done the same knows you can only buy so many of those before your wardrobe feels filled with one-off pieces you can't pair with anything else. Shorts are an obvious no-no in an office setting (even a more casual, fashion-focused magazine one), and jeans are ill-fit for New York City's humid summers. Pants were my only option, and they turned out to be the MVP of my closet—both during those three months, and for years to come. Spring pants and summer pants, alike, are flexible in every possible way; they play well with basically any top you own, they're easily dressed up or down and they're often cozy enough to sleep in. They'll take you anywhere, and they'll infuse your wardrobe with vitality. So tell me again why spring dresses are the move and spring pants aren't? 1. Take off your pants and run, carjacker tells victim in St. Louis robbery - STLtoday.com Posted: 18 Mar 2019 12:45 PM PDT ST. LOUIS • A man was forced to take off his pants and run away by a gunman who then apparently used the keys from the pants pocket to steal the victim's vehicle, police said. It happened late Sunday morning in the 4300 block of Nebraska Avenue, in the city's Mount Pleasant neighborhood. The victim told police he was outside a friend's home about 11:20 a.m. when a man walked up with a gun and told the victim to take off his pants. After the victim did so, the gunman told him to run. When the victim returned a short time later, his vehicle was gone. His keys had been in the pants, police said. The investigation is ongoing. Are Proof's Nomad Pants the Perfect All-Purpose Chinos? - Inverse Posted: 17 Mar 2019 02:03 PM PDT It's no secret we're a fan of Proof's [Nova Series coat}(https://www.idevaffiliate.com/31555/idevaffiliate.php?id=977&url=28482) so we were definitely interested in trying their Nomad pants. These pants advertise the following features:
Our Initial ImpressionsThere's no question that this is a good looking chino. It's well made, appears upscale and definitely something most would feel comfortable wearing to the office or on the road. I question how good it functions as a casual pant but some of that might be a matter of style. What It Was Like to Wear ItThe company's claim about breathable twill held up. We spent a lot of time commuting and walking around New York city and we're impressed with how breathable these were. Some chinos have a heavy feel to them and can make you sweaty and uncomfortable but these felt light throughout the day. The secret pocket was actually much more welcome than we expected. Honestly, we thought this was a bit of a throwaway feature, but if you've ever worn chinos on a regular basis you know the fear you have that your wallet or phone is going to slide out of your pockets. We didn't have to worry here. The zip pocket sits inside the right-side pocket and was big enough to hold an iPhone XS and a slim wallet. Is This the Ultimate All-Purpose Pant? It's honestly pretty close. Again, whether you wear it casually is a matter of taste but it's certainly not for lack of comfort. These pants were no problem to be in for 10-12 hours at a stretch. But if you're the kind of person who wants to rock a pair of jeans on the weekend then these might not be right for you. Is It Worth the Price? We're gonna go ahead and say yes. These retail for $98 which isn't a huge price given their multi-purpose function. A pair of pants you can probably wear any day of the week and under almost any setting make it a more than reasonable price to pay for the Nomad.
